Popchips Review

Popchips sent me a sample box to try and review for you guys, and they were absolutely fabulous! They are a cross between a rice cake and a chip, with the crispiness of a chip, but the airiness off a rice cake. There were six flavors to choose from: Original, Barbeque, Sea Salt and Vinegar, Salt and Pepper, Cheddar, and Sour Cream and Onion. Here's my take on each:

  • Original - A great basic chip, perfect to go with a sandwich. They are yummy enough to come with no flavor and still be very good, so if you are looking for the perfect sandwich chip, this is your man!
  • Barbeque - These are hands down the best barbeque chips I have ever had. I am not the biggest fan of this flavor typically, but I could not believe how good these were. Seriously. I refused to share with my husband, and I hid them from my kids. They are that good!!
  • Sea Salt and Vinegar - Not gonna lie. I hate this flavor so I took one nibble of one chip and it tasted like salt and vinegar. My husband, however, LOVES this kind of chip and he thought they were yummy. So for those of you who like this flavor, it's apparently good. =)
  • Salt and Pepper - My husband and I are both big fans of this simple flavor, and we really liked these. They're great for munching while you're watching tv or if you just want a small snack. The pepper flavor comes through nicely, and it's got just the right hint of spicy. I am a big fan!
  • Cheddar - I really liked this one too, though no where near as much as the barbeque. Again, there's good flavor, and the appropriate amount of cheesy color, so your kids will love them!
  • Sour Cream and Onion - It was a close fight with the barbeque for first with this flavor. The barbeque won, but seriously, this one is very very good too. The flavor is nicely tangy, and mixed with the perfect crunchiness, I liked it better than sour cream and onion potato chips.

The moral of the story is that they have some great flavors that are definitely worth trying! You can find them in stores like Target or Whole Foods, and you can also find them on Amazon as well. If you'e been looking for a good chip alternative or just a different flavor, pick up a bag. I think you'll love them!
