Man Gifts

Okay, it's a lot easier to shop for women and kids than it is for guys. So here's some suggestions that will hopefully either inspire you or flat out be what you need for the guys on your list. Just remember that if you don't want to buy the exact thing I mention, you can always keep it in mind for a general idea. Some of these suggestions have appeared before in other lists =)

  • Cool Flasks - These are from an Etsy shop, and they look so fab!
  • iPod Hoodie - It's just so cute!
  • OCD Cutting Board - I would buy this for my hubby, but he would use it and love it, and I am so not going there.
  • Demotivational Posters and more - Oh my goodness. These are so funny. Definitely great for an office =)
  • Points of View or Pessimists's Drinkware - Again, great for guys with a dry sense of humor. Hah. No pun intended.
  • Witty Tee Shirts from Threadless or Shirt.Woot - There are tons of options to choose from, and many are laugh out loud funny. (Use the code HAPPYFUZZY to get 30% off from Threadless)
  • Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day - For the foodie guy on your list. It's easy to make the starter and easy to make the bread. Nuff said.
  • Knock Knock Notepads - Some of these are very funny! Some of them are a little crass, so be warned and read the check box options carefully. And you can find most all of them on Amazon if you're looking for price comparisons or better deals.
  • $19.95 Starbucks Travel Coffee Tumbler - Pricey, yes, BUT it will get you free brewed coffee every single day in January. Not to mention it's a spiffy travel mug. You will be loved! This is only available on December 12th. I plan to get to my store when it opens to get one or two!
  • Then there's the usual suspects like gift certificates for restaurants, movie theaters, and more. And you can never fail with random tools.

Uncommon Goods - Awesome Gift Inspiration!

UncommonGoods

I am always on the hunt for unique gift ideas. I LOVE giving gifts that really mean something and will be loved. I was trying to track down good guy gifts when I stumbled in to UncommonGoods. Can I just say that I fell in love immediately? It's an entire site devoted to gifts, but as the name implies, they're not your average suggestions. You'll find products you didn't know existed that are absolutely perfect! I was sent four of their awesome gifts to review for you guys and I am very excited about everything I received.

You'll find great ideas in the Stocking Stuffers 2011 section. Coal gum, Fingerprint Art Sets, and Bird Lights are some of the cool selections there. There are ideas for men, women, teens, and kids, and there are products available at all sorts of prices. You really cannot go wrong taking a look! I was sent the Fingerprint Art Sets and the Puppet Felted Pens (the Princess and Pirate set). They are only $10 and $8, making them perfect stocking stuffers. The art set comes in adorable tin and has everything your child needs to entertain themselves for a long time. And since it comes in a tin, it's portable. It would be awesome for a road trip (for an older child who won't try to get creative with your car's interior...) And the Puppet Felted Pens are also perfect for your small artist. They are pens, and the caps double as finger puppets. You can get animals or princess and pirates sets, and they each come in sets of two. I am hoping they won't distract too much when we're trying to do school work!

You can also check out their Top Gifts page. You'll find the Whiskey Stones I am so fond of giving to guys. I got a set of those for review and again, they are so awesome. They're literally rocks that you stick in your freezer. Then when you want a drink with ice, you use the stones and they don't melt. It gives a whole new meaning to on the rocks. And if you're looking for another great guy gift, don't forget to check out their Flasks. I received the Notebook Flask and I really like it. It's well made and comes with a gift bag, so it's perfect for a stocking stuffer or as an add on with another item.

And don't forget about the Gift Ideas for Mom! They've got necklaces, books, kitchen products and more. You will absolutely be able to find something for every female on your list, or at the very least you'll find some awesome inspiration.

If you're looking for a brand new set of ideas for Christmas gifts, you really need to go check out UncommonGoods! I promise you'll find inspiration and some great deals!

*Disclaimer - I was sent four items to review, but I received no payments in exchange for the reviews. All views and opinions are my own.

Christmas Gift Ideas: Stocking Stuffers Part 2!

As promised, here are some more Stocking Stuffer Ideas! Click here to find the first set of Stocking Stuffer Ideas in case you missed it. Enjoy:

  • e.l.f. Holiday Collection Kits - These start as low as $3, several are $5, and many of the $5 kits can be opened and broken up for several stockings. Or keep them as is! **Use the coupon code GIFTFAVES at checkout to get 40% off a $25 gift kit purchase - Ends 11/7**
  • Squinkies - These come in sets with several in them, and woud be perfect if you've got lots of kiddo stockings to stuff.
  • Melissa & Doug Playtime Food - Not all of their sets can be broken up, but many can. They'll run around $10-$15, but still, when you're buying for several kids, it's not too expensive.
  • Kits from 3floz.com - These kits are definitely not cheap, but if you or someone you love does a lot of flying, it's worth checking out. They've got kits, and they've also just got lots of products in sample sizes. And they're high end, so while not cheap, they'll definitely be appreciated.
  • Amazon mp3 or Kindle Gift Certificates - These can be bought for $1 each if you want (the email ones. The actual gift cards can be no lower than $10), so you could get several and you would essentially be giving away free songs or possibly even free books (with the right sale!)

Christmas Gift Idea: Magnetic Bulletin Board

Here's a fun gift for someone who needs a little organization (or cute wall art!). Grab a Shape Up Flower Magnetic Bulletin Board from Three by Three or this Big Dot Board in red also by the same company. Three by Three makes awesome tiny magnets that are extremely strong. As you can see from the picture, they can hold up keys. This would make a great gift for someone's office or kitchen, or even a teen's bedroom.

Christmas Gift Idea: The Non-Planner Datebook

If you're buying for someone who doesn't do well with coloring inside the lines (you know...the one who runs screaming from checklists and organizes in piles), here's a great gift for them! Grab them The Non-Planner Datebook (you can find it on Modcloth for $12.99 and on Amazon for $12.95 - the Modcloth link has lots of pictures of the inside)! There's " fun prompts, thought bubbles, comical commentary that will keep you inspired and your pen moving" and all around busyness that would make any non type A person smile. I would know...I am SO not type A and this book looks fabulous to me =)

Christmas Gift Idea: Porcelain Take Away Mug

This weeks Christmas Gift Idea is this Porcelain Take Away Mug with Silicone Lid in a pretty leaf pattern. I have a cup just like this (without the pretty design, which makes me want the pretty design!), and it's fantastic. It isn't as insulated as a travel cup or thermos type container. But it does keep coffee warmer than a regular mug, and it has a lid, so it travels very well. I highly recommend them as gifts for the coffee or hot tea lover in your life. It will be a huge hit =) You could also grab one of the other designs too if you're looking for something different.

Christmas Gift Idea: Short and Spout Funnel AND Bonus Idea Flora Measuring Cups

I didn't post a Christmas Gift Idea last week, mostly because I forgot. So today I give you two ideas!

First (and vastly less expensive), check out the Short and Spout Funnel from Modcloth. It's $7.99, it's adorable, it's highly rated, and again, it's adorable. It would be great with a couple of other kitchen things together in a cute basket or mixing bowl. Go to town =) And some of the colors are sold out right now, but check again because they're good about getting more stock. By the way, I LOVE Modcloth, so you'll be seeing more ideas from them...

Second, and not exactly cheap but VERY pretty, is this set of Austin's Flora Measuring Cups from Anthropologie. They're $28, but since they're practically art, they would be beautiful to display in anyone's kitchen. And they too are highly reviewed, so they should be a safe bet.

Christmas Gift Ideas 2011

**Click here if you're looking for the suggestions I've already posted!

**Click here to see suggestions from the past two years!

I know, I know. For most of us, it's still 4,000 degrees outside and we're barely able to wrap our brains around the fact that it's Back to School time. BUT, the BEST way to have a thrifty Christmas is to buy early! That way, you can snag deals instead of scrambling at the last minute and paying full price. It also means you have time to choose gifts that are thoughtful and perfect. SO, I will be starting my Christmas Gift Ideas 2011 next week! My goal is to post once per week for the next couple of months, and as we get closer, I will post more. And if I see more than one deal per week, I'll post about that too. Don't worry..I gotcha covered =) Be prepared to take gift buying off of the list of things you'll stress about for the holidays..somehow it seems to good to be true!

Oh, and if you're looking to see Christmas gift ideas from previous years, just click here OR click on the handy little tags (links) below this post that say Christmas Gifts. You can also click the one that says Christmas Gift Ideas 2011 to see all of the ones for this year too!

Daily Deal Site for Etsy Stores!!

Do you love Etsy? Do you love Daily Deal sites? Then let me introduce you to Heartsy! Heartsy is a daily deal site that sells vouchers for different stores on Etsy. I LOVE Etsy, and this is probably really bad news for me..I'm not going to have an excuse to stay away anymore. Go sign up here and start referring friends for a $5 credit for you (when they buy something...)!

By the way, this would be a great way to get discounts on unique holiday presents! Just use the vouchers themselves as gifts, or gifts with the vouchers. This is so thoughtful and will be very much appreciated!

Izzy Jewel Boxes

I am not a big jewelry person, but I do have several pieces that I love. I had been hanging my necklaces from a hand towel rack, but I didn't really think it was the ideal place for them. So I started a hunt for a great, unique jewely box. Then ideeli started running a sale (under the O Shop tab) on the large Izzy Jewel box and I loved it immediately. After much internal debate, I grabbed it, and I am SO glad I did. It's much bigger than I expected, and it's like art. You get to hang your pretty pieces for all to see, and it can fit in with your room decor.

The only downside here is the price. These boxes are not cheap! Even on ideeli, the large box is $60 plus shipping. But there are smaller boxes on their website that are less expensive and still equally as cute. I think these would make fantastic, unique gifts when you feel like splurging

By the way, I realize this isn't exactly budget, but I love to find unique pieces like these. I would much rather spend more on one piece than have several cheaper pieces I don't love as much. So this box is worth saving up for and enjoying for a long time to come!

Oh, and you can use the code Oprah through the end of March to get 15% off your order! Thanks to reader Sara for the tip =)

Christmas Gift Idea:Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day Cookbook

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31fubuCWLpL._AA160_.jpg

If you're buying for a busy mom or even a foodie, you can pick up a copy of Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. This cookbook is fabulous, and I can personally attest to how great the bread and the recipes you can make with the bread are. And it really is as simple as it sounds! Back when I could actually eat wheat, this book was an awesome asset! So go grab a copy for several people on your list, and you can always leave sweet hints for someone to get it for you too =)
